Low Budget Miniatures: Cardboard Chest

Here's a hobby I've had since I was a kid. Using recycled scraps to make things. Why not start with my most recent one? A cardboard chest. specifically, made from scrap cardboard. And with a hinge made from the scraps from those scraps after making the chest. Not impressive at a glance, but my focus for these props isn't to make them impressive. It's to make them low budget, and optionally, to make them work like the real thing. And that it does. I used scraps from cutting the cardboard in order to add a hinge. Cardboard strips can bend, and normally this is a bad thing, but with a hinge, it's the reason it works. As for where exactly the hinge goes, I needed to be sure it wouldn't rip off when i opened it, so...  I cut a hole in the back, sealed the edge of the hole, and glued the hinge to a slightly-larger piece. Obligatory First Post

The post that needs no explanation providing it to the site that does. I'll be writing about hobbies of mine. Could be gaming. Could be crafts. Could be a specific aspect of it. The name of the site, I'd say, is a good indicator of how likely the hobbies are to stay the same. For those of you who have the same grasp of sarcasm that I do, this means it's going to change.
